Activated Charcoal
A new body detox is trending!
Ever heard of activated charcoal?
If not, don’t stress, we’re here to bring you all the inside info.
With so many outside factors impacting our health today, we’re all looking for a way to detox whether its mind or body or both. Colonic Irrigations are perfect for cleansing but, what if you’re looking for your next step? That’s where activated charcoal comes in.
There are so many ways that toxins can make their way inside our bodies – they come from things like processed foods and environmental pollution. There is almost no escaping them. Luckily, using activated charcoal can make sure these toxins are moved quickly through your body rather than building up.
Charcoal has been used for centuries in both Chinese and Western medicines and is now moving to our market. There are many benefits to using activated charcoal, and even more when paired with colonic irrigations. After you have a colonic, the activated charcoal can remove the toxins left in the body. Giving you a total cleanse and detox.
So how does it work??
Activated charcoal is a highly absorbent product that can capture and remove up to 100 times its own weight in toxins. It acts like a magnet that attracts all the toxins in your body and then removes them. It also removes the intestinal gas from your digestive system, helping to relieve gas and bloating – something so many of us struggle with!
So how is it taken?
You should take activated charcoal when:
1) You eat out at restaurants or eat processed junk foods
2) You drink bad quality coffee
3) You’re drinking any alcohol
4) You feel moody or tired
5) You’re traveling, especially air travel
In these cases, take two capsules when consuming food. It will stop the absorption of vitamins from the meal but let’s be honest, if you’re taking them for fast food, they’re not there to begin with!
However, activated charcoal isn’t just for these times. Taking it every day is a great way to help your body in this toxin-filled environment.
If you take daily:
Take two capsules in the morning on an empty stomach, one hour before food. Then another two capsules before bed, two hours after food.
It is best to take the capsules a few hours after using vitamin or mineral supplements as it can interfere with absorption. Also be sure to take capsules at a different time to any prescription’s medications, as they will be removed by the charcoal and not enter your body.
Water intake is important after taking the charcoal. Water helps the charcoal get inside your body and do its job. Dehydration can be very common when dealing with intestinal issues. So, try your hardest to up your water intake. It doesn’t take long for it to become a habit!
